My name is Jordyn and I was born to bake!

I am a 21 year old self-taught cake artist who started baking at the age of 16 after discovering my love for baking and decorating cakes and cupcakes during Foods classes at Homewood Flossmoor High School. By my senior year I “officially” started my own business, appropriately named JordyCakes. When I was 17, I was featured on Windy City Live as a young entrepreneur and also provided cupcakes for WGN’s Back to School Fair.

Since that time, I have been baking for people throughout the Chicagoland area for any and all occasions – birthday parties, baby showers, graduations, weddings, funerals, proms, church events and more! I have also made cakes for celebrities like Chaka Khan, Dwyane Wade, Common and O.J. Mayo!  I enjoy the challenge of making my cakes and cupcakes beautiful – I consider them to be miniature works of art that happen to taste as amazing as they look.

JordyCakes has been growing tremendously through word of mouth and social media! After officially outgrowing my parents’ kitchen, I found a location for my boutique in Country Club Hills, IL. In January of 2014, I launched an online KickStarter campaign to help raise the money I needed to open my boutique.  Thanks to generous donations from my family, friends, church members, Facebook family and Instagram followers I was able to raise almost $20,000 in 20 days and open JordyCakes Custom Cake & Cupcake Boutique in February of 2014!

I consider myself the “Beyonce of Baking” because like Beyonce, I discovered what I wanted to do at a young age and will stop at nothing to become the best at my craft.  Like Beyonce, I also want to show our youth that with talent and dedication anything is possible! I have done speaking engagements at local high schools and community programs and enjoy sharing my story with other young people so that they can see first hand that

…with hard work success is possible and their dreams really can come true just as my dreams are coming true - one cupcake at a time!
